1. Data handled by the app
Scans, OCR text, exports, and backups are designed to work on device by default. Local app content remains under user control unless a user chooses a cloud-connected action.

Simplify Scanner is built with a local-first approach. This policy explains what data is handled, when data may leave the device, and what controls users have.
2. Optional cloud actions
Some features can call remote services when configured, such as cloud OCR or translation. These actions are user-initiated and may send selected content to a third-party service provider.
3. Ads and purchases
The free plan can include advertising. Pro purchases and subscription billing are processed by the app marketplace (for example, Google Play) under their policies.
4. Security and retention
- Users can delete local scans and exports at any time.
- Backup snapshots can be created and restored by the user.
- Remote API usage is disabled by default in production unless explicitly enabled.
5. Support requests
If users submit diagnostics or issue details through support channels, that information is used only to investigate and resolve reported problems.
6. Policy updates
This policy can be updated as product behavior evolves. Material changes should be reflected in the website legal pages and app release notes.
